MIM Introduction

MIM is new shape forming technology of metal components combined current plastic injection with powder metallurgy. MIM is the advanced technology developed rapidly both

in the powder metallurgy field and the industrial field.

Processing steps of MIM:

Firstly, adopt metal powder reaches MIM requirement, then make the organic binder mixed with metal powder into homogeneous partical material by proper method and at

specified temperature, after pelletizing, the partical material in heat and plasticization condition is injected into mold cavity by injection molding machine to get formed blanks,

then, the formed blanks are degreased by chemical or catalytic extraction method, lastly, the finished product is obtained by sintering and densifying.

MIM Product Features

MIM product features: 1, Product is highly free to be formed in geometrical shape, the metal product with complex shapes could be formed once like producing plastic injection products. 2, MIM products has features of uniform density and very good roughness, the surface roughness could reach Ra0.8-1.6, the weight is from 0.1g to 200g, the size precision is from +/-0.1% to +/-0.3%, which does not need the subsequent machining. 3, MIM products is suitable for wide material range for wide application area. It is of high raw material utilization, high degree of automation in production and simple processes, which could achieve continuous and large-batch production. 4, MIM products are of stable quality and reliable property, relative density of the product could reach 95%-99%. The products could be processed with heat treatment, such as carburizing, quenching, tempering, and could be processed with other subsequent surface treatments. MIM products has high mechanical property, such as intensity, hardness and ductility. And, products are of good abrasive resistance, fatigue resistance and uniform texture.

The blank is put into a catalytic degreasing furnace for removing superfluous binder.

The degreased workblanks are put into a sintering furnace for sintering in different conditions and at different temperatures, which will appear different shrinkage.
热处理Heat

The sinteredblanks are in post-treatment and heat-treatment according to required specifications

    1, MIM could manufacture parts with thin walls, the min thickness could rea 0.5mm.
